:omg:

“What was it that you came to do?”
I heard a voice call from behind
“I think you have given up too soon”
I paid the voice no heed
Work was to be done
People were to bleed
“Why are you doing this?”
I balled a fist and gnashed my jaw
“I can’t be anything else now-
have you ever seen what I saw?”
I lowered my chin
I was in love with my sins
“No one will love you how you are.”
The voice was persistent
I smiled and rubbed my scar
Without turning I made a retort
“Love? I seek nothing of the sort!”
Vengeance had made me
But now she could not even save me
However this voice was not hers
A new woman had made her way in
“You are like the rest-“
I said without any jest
“You come under the guise of good
you will do what in turn I should-
yes I know your kind well, girl.
You don’t want to interfere
Not with my mistress here.”
There was a pause
The winds shifted and howled
From my mouth came a growl
“Where is your mistress now?”
The voice asked
Vengeance was gone-but how?
“Did she make them suffer?
Did she keep her promise?”
I remembered the pact-the kiss
I thought back
Vengeance brought no misery
Not to anyone but me!
There was no retribution
Not even a substitution
I had been duped by Vengeance
I stooped down and humbled myself
“Do not cry for yourself.
You have only lost your way.”
I dared not look behind me
“Leave me girl, I am ashamed.”
The voice drew closer
“I don’t think you should stay here
I know of a great place
I can show you the way there.”
With a sigh I stood from the grass
Unintentionally I was a bit crass
“I suppose you want this for me then?”
“Well yes, I think I might.”
Just then she came into my sight
She wore a gown of white
Her body had been bathed in the light
“Come, I can show you the way home.”
I was now being nursed by
Two velvet hands on my cheeks
I fell to my knees I was too weak
She lowered herself to me
How quickly I was embraced
“You know you don’t belong in this place”
All I could do was nod silently
“Why were you here? Why guard your face?”
“I was consumed by hate
I let it take and carry me away
I forgot about my own fate.”
We waited for the sun to come up
We now walked hand in hand
Smiling as we laid in the sand
As I lay with her I stared up at the tall palms
Knowing that I would never come to harm

I didn't see that coming! The one thing I think is strange is the two lines: "We now walked hand in hand
Smiling as we laid in the sand"

The imagery is conflicting there, I think.
:iconlawlesswritings:
